2009 First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit
Tax credit can be used as additional down payment

Breaking News: Get up to $8,000 Tax Credit that does not need to be repaid, if you occupy your new home for at least three years. The Dream of Homeownership is NOW Within Reach Tax credit can be used as additional down payment How to Qualify: If you are First-time home buyers that purchase a home between January 1, 2009 and December 1, 2009.

If you have not owned a home in the last three years or more, You qualify as a “first-time home buyer”.

Eligible Properties: This must by your primary residences, and includes: single-family homes, townhomes, condos, and co-ops.

The Amount of Tax Credit is determined by: 10% of the purchase price of the home, up to $8,000. Single buyers can have an income up to $75,000 and married buyers can have an income up to $150,000. To qualify for a refinance, you must:

Have a loan guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Call Fannie at 1-800-7FANNIE and Freddie at 1-800-FREDDIE to find out if you have this type of guaranteed mortgage loan.

Owe 80-105% of your mortgage. If you are under water and owe more that 105% of your home's value, you may not qualify.

Have a conforming or high balance conforming loan. Conforming Loan limits are between $417,000 and $729,500 depending on the area.
